Join the Parent Portal on Online Scout Manager (OSM)

Step 1: Activate Account You will receive an email from your leader inviting you to create an OSM account. Click the link in the email to create an account. This will take you to a login screen (shown in the image to the right). Click “Create Account” and fill in your first and last names, as well as the email you have registered with Fressingfield Scout Group (this will likely be the email you receive regular communications from).

Step 2: Verify Account Once you submit your initial details, you will receive a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to verify your account. You will then be able to create a password and login.

Step 3: Login to OSM Once you login to the OSM website (https://www.onlinescoutmanager.co.uk/login.php), you will be directed to the “Dashboard”.

Step 4: Explore! From here, using the left navigation window, you will be able to view some of the features available. If you are on a phone/small device, you may need to expand the sidebar by pressing the three horizontal lines. If you cannot see any features, click your Scout’s name to reveal these.

Note: If you have multiple children within the Fressingfield Scout Group, they should all appear down the left in the sidebar. Please speak with your leader if you have any issues.

Setting Up Subscriptions and Making Online Payments

Subscriptions The annual subscription for all members is £150 which is preferably paid by standing order in twelve equal payments of £12.50. Through OSM, direct debits can be set up.

1. Login to your ‘Parent Portal’ account (you should receive an email from your leader with details to set up your account)

2. Once logged in, click payments on the left. From here, you can create a subscription (direct debit) in the top-right corner. You may need to click “Subscriptions” first.

Camps/Events We are also using OSM to allow payments to come through for any one-off activities we run. These could include overnight camps, fundraising activities and day trips.

We strongly advise NOT “Creating a Subscription” for these payments because you will be agreeing to pay for any activity we organise in the future (regardless of intended attendance). Instead, payments can be made one-by-one, by clicking “Pay Now”.

Programme By clicking “Programme” in the left menu, you can see the upcoming sessions your Scout will be participating in. It will also include additional events and day trips. You can download this to store offline for your information and you can even link it to your personal calendar by clicking “Calendar Feed”.

Personal Details Another beneficial feature is for parents to be able to update/view the personal details we hold for each of our members. Please review this information regularly to ensure our records are up to date. You can confirm if these details are correct by clicking the confirmation notice at the top of the page.

Gift Aid (Must be a UK Taxpayer) You can also make your Gift Aid declaration online. Please do this as it increases our income at no cost to you!
