We installed solar panels and batteries at our HQ! This is saving us thousands of pounds a year and cutting our carbon footprint. The education programme and community engagement continues throughout 2026 and beyond.
We Did It!
Solar panels and batteries installed December 2025

Thanks to brilliant support from our local supporters and grant funders, we raised enough money to install a full 30 kWp solar array with battery storage and did this before Christmas 2025. The system is now working perfectly - and the young people love watching the numbers go up on the inverter app!
What We Achieved
- Summer 2025 - Community fundraising & grant successes
- November 2025 - Installation month
- 17 February 2026 (Pancake Day) - Official switch-on with Scouts, local councillors and funders
- March 2026 - First export payment to be received!
No extra planning permission needed - we own the building outright. The project came in on time and within budget.
